Looking Up

I mention my Dad often because it helps me to talk about him.

Even my boys often talk about Papaw Mike. Yesterday, at football practice, 3-year-old Hayden was sitting with me on a blanket when we both laid back and stared at the sky.

Hayden asked me if Papaw was up there watching us.

I explained that we couldn't see Papaw, but he could see us. Hayden thought for a moment, waved at the blue sky with his dimpled hand, and said, "Hi Papaw! I love you!"

In this fast-paced world, it was nice to share this moment.

And I'm sure at that moment Papaw blew him a kiss...then stuck out his tongue and laughed!

Love U,

Our loved ones stay with us so long as we remember them.

I really only knew my mom's parents through other people, but I still think about them often and feel like they're watching over me.

Deb,

I never thought I would respond to one of these blogs. But everytime I read one about your Dad and your boys Papaw, I can't help myself any longer.

When I was a young boy I thought the world of my Papaw. I admired him so much that I think of him everyday. I am who he was. I don't know where my life would be without him. He is my hero! I lost him many years ago...but I am testament to the fact that he is with me everyday. I know how your boys feel, and my mom never let me forget the kind of man he was. If Griffin and Hayden are like me...they will never forget their Papaw! (The other "Greg")

Thanks, Greg-

I appreciate what you said. It brought tears to my eyes.

We talk about Papaw every day. I want the boys to remember him always, especially since my Dad thought the WORLD of them.

Hope to see you soon...
Deb
